Organic Food Information
Organic food types are basically safer and healthier to consume than those that were produced with the use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides. This was the conclusion from a recent series of studies conducted by the EPA about the utilization of organic agricultural farming practices as compared to the functional use of artificial substances such as chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Moreover, the utilization of organic agricultural practices helps preserve our natural resources aside from being both economical and safe for our farmers.
Tasty and Nutritious
Beverages and foods produced through the use of organic agricultural practices are highly nutritious and safe because they are not exposed to chemical compounds found in artificial fertilizers and pesticides. These organic food types are also tastier compared to the ones that were produced using artificial ways and means. This was the direct result of a recent series of studies conducted by the agricultural specialists of the EPA on apples produced by two orchards, which utilized organic farming practices and artificial substances, respectively. The apples from the organic farms held levels of firmness longer than the ones which were from the orchards which utilized artificial agricultural practices. The organically grown apples also had higher sugar content, which basically made the apples sweeter and juicier than the artificially grown ones.
Health and Safety
The organically grown food types are also safer to consume by both people and animals as stated by EPA officials. These claims were based from the EPA's most recent studies of artificial compounds found in chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Food types that were exposed to artificial weed killers, which constitute 90% of those ever available in the market, showed signs of carcinogenic contents, as well as the ones that, were exposed to 30% of both artificial pesticides and mold killers. Furthermore, these artificial substances once extensively used for farming contributed to the damages incurred by the natural environment since these agricultural chemicals contained harmful compounds, as stated by the EPA, to be directly responsible for polluting the water resources aside from the immediate environment. These artificially produced feeds types contained antibiotics which instigated the production of these pathogens by the natural system of livestock, and consumption of livestock which were exposed to artificially produced feeds by humans were stated by the EPA to be the most probable cause of cancer and various diseases among others. The other food types which were exposed to chemically induced agricultural practices also contributed to the probable leading causes of cancer and diseases from the consumption of food, and this was because the EPA found carcinogenic substances and compounds present in artificial herbicides and most chemical pesticides.
